
According to provisional figures an average voter turnout of over 70 percent was recorded island wide at today’s presidential elections except in the North and East, election officials said.
Reportedly, less than 20 percent have turned up voting in the North and about 50 percent voter turnout reported in the East.
The voter turnout may reach 80 percent or more after all figures are tabulated, the election officials said.
The polls ended at 4:00 p.m. local time without any major incidents.
